Entirely UK Manufactured in Aerospace specification materials these are light weight Cast Aluminium Brake Drums with a Steel Friction Insert in the style and design of the famous Alfin drums of the 1960's.

These offer two advantages over standard cast iron drums. Firstly these drums will dissipate the heat and expel gas and dust generated during breaking much more quickly, reducing the brake fade that occurs during heavy or prolonged brake application. Secondly they reduce Un-sprung weight by 500g allowing quicker suspension response improving ride and handling.
Let's be clear here these would seem to increase initial breaking torque against perfect original drums but certainly do not replace our disc brake kits for modified cars. What they do offer is improved breaking over old, worn or distorted drums plus reduced fade and enhanced recovery from heat induced fade. Whilst these are not cheap at £308.10 including VAT and UK Delivery a pair, fitting is a simple DIY task easily accomplished in less than a morning with no specialist tools or knowledge required.
Intended to replace the Front Drums on all SC variants with 7" Drums only.
Sorry 7cwt Commercial Owners the manufacturers have no plans to make 8" versions
These can be fitted as Rear Drums on all models but only in conjunction with either a Disc Brake Kit or with Alfin Front Drums.

Update 20/10/24. Having now completed a 40 mile run in Eve I have to say that I was wrong, these do increase braking force quite substantially, possibly by 10-15% and I should add this is on the existing brake shoes that are several thousand miles old and have only been deglazed. STG.
