Proper safety equipment is essential, in particular axle/chassis stands and a good hydraulic jack. An 8/10 Workshop Manual is worthwhile as are an AF Socket Set, Breaker Bar and Torque Wrench.
This kit was originally developed for early Herald cars with Front Drum Brakes. Whilst some parts are common with the 8/10 there are significant differences and it is possible that some specialist equipment and machining may be required.
Disc brakes will offer a small increase in braking torque to 8 and 10 models but also greater resistance to wheel locking and brake fade making the brakes more suitable to drivers used to modern braking systems. They are also suitable for cars that have mildly tuned engines of similar weight to original.
Please remember this modification MUST be notified to your insurer to maintain adequate cover.
