50's Steering Universal Joint
Description
Steering Universal Joint, fits Standard 8/10/Pennant/Companion/Commercial This connects the spline at bottom of the steering column to the splined shaft into the steering box.
The original version had nuts and bolts and rubber flexible parts. It wears out relatively quickly
This is a new improved version, that has no rubber parts to go soft. Consequently it lasts longer. As it provides a metal path to earth there is no need to bypass it with an earthing wire.
The new joint is heavy duty and physically bigger, which moves the steering column and hence the steering wheel back about 1 inch.
Please check after fitting that the steering brush pencil is providing continuity to earth. These pencils are available below.
