PLEASE READ THE FULL LISTING.
These are the only available examples of an attempt to reproduce the later of the two original Steering Column Flexible Joint between the Inner Column and the Steering Box. This version of the joint has a metal disc between the two yokes which is drilled for four bonded rubber bushes through which the two yokes are bolted to the disc.
Following an EU ruling in the early 2000's the import or sale of the original type of joint was prohibited as it was unable to meet TUV safety standards and receive an E mark. Following this the later UJ type of joint was introduced meeting all safety requirements.
After Brexit a large parts importer attempted to reproduce the original design of joint using a manufacturer outside Europe and the items here are the result. It would seem that the economic and supply problems caused by COVID has led to these being so expensive.
Be very clear, these are in no way better than the UJ type we continue to supply but are to original design and size so does not move the steering wheel back at all.
The splined parts of these joints have been cut rather than rolled and it is therefore possible that they may not fit later Columns which may have rolled splines. Should this be the case for an member they may return the unit for a full refund.
